Estacada Cemetery District Rules & Regulations
SECTION 1: POLICY AND PURPOSE
- These regulations are for the protection of the eight cemeteries in the Estacada Cemetery Maintenance District and for the health, safety and welfare of the public while visiting the Cemetery. Use of the Cemetery is to be orderly, clean and non damaging to the area.
SECTION 2: CEMETERY PROPERTY CARE AND DESTRUCTION
- For the safety of the sexton while mowing, no cans or glass vases are allowed. Floral vases are available for purchase through Estacada Funeral Chapel
- No artificial flowers or permanent containers are allowed during mowing season (between March 1st and November 15th). Please place artificial flowers in vases.
- Permanent plants and shrubs are not allowed to be planted, nor are any fences of borders to be placed around grave sites, without the permission of the cemetery board.
- No person shall mutilate, deface, damage, or remove any tombstone, bench, building, sign, marker, monument, fence, barrier, faucet, or other structure of any kind in any cemetery without express permission of the sexton or cemetery board.
- No person shall erect temporary signs, markers, or inscriptions of any type without permission from the sexton or cemetery board.
- No person shall pick, cut, mutilate, or remove any flowers, shrubs, foliage, trees, or plant life, without the permission of the sexton or cemetery board.
- No unauthorized person shall dig up deface or remove any dirt, stones, make an excavation, roll any stones or other objects, or cause or assist in doing any of the said things in any cemetery.
- No person shall use threatening or abusive language or gestures, create any public disturbances, or engage in riotous behavior in any cemetery.
- Assistance from the public in caring for their family markers is greatly appreciated.
- The cemetery district is not responsible for markers damaged from acts of vandalism
SECTION 3: OPENING, CLOSING, ENTRY, OTHER RULES
- All burial plots and opening/closings must be paid in full before time of need
- While only flat markers will be allowed, please contact the cemetery district before setting any markers.
- All graves including cremation graves must be opened by cemetery personnel.
- No person or vehicles, other than authorized personnel, shall park a vehicle on the cemetery property after dark.
- No person other than peace officers or authorized personnel shall remain in the cemetery after dark.
- No person shall build, light, or maintain a fire without permission from the sexton, or cemetery board.
- No person shall leave any fire unattended and every fire will be fully extinguished before leaving the cemetery.
SECTION 4: ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
- No person shall possess in any cemetery area any containers of alcoholic beverages
SECTION 5: ANIMALS
- No person shall ride, drive, lead, or keep a horse in any cemetery without written permission from the sexton or cemetery board.
- No dog, cat, or other animal of any kind, except service animals shall be brought into or kept in any cemetery unless confined or controlled on a maximum 6 foot leash.
- Al animal fecal matter shall be put in a bag or container and removed from cemetery grounds.
SECTION 6: FIREWORKS AND WEAPONS
- No Person shall hunt, pursue, trap, kill, or molest any bird or animal in any cemetery without the express permission of the cemetery board
- No person shall discharge any firearm, pellet gun, bow and arrow, slingshot, paintball gun, or other weapon in the cemeteries.
- No person shall possess or use fireworks or other explosives in any cemetery.
SECTION 7: WASTE DISPOSAL
- All trash, garbage, litter, waste material, must be removed from the cemetery on each visit.
SECTION 8: ENFORCEMENT
- These rules are enforceable by any peace officer or Escatada Cemetery District sexton.
